Lady Suite

General FAQs

  • All of the information provided should not take the place of consulting a physician. This information does not and should not replace treatment from a medical professional. If you need medical advice or assistance, you should consult a physician.

  • Vulvar skin (skin surrounding the vagina) is more sensitive because it’s thinner than skin on other parts of the body. It’s also hormone-responsive tissue becoming more sensitive during different stages, such as periods and during pregnancy and menopause. Just like the face, it can experience skin conditions like irritation, dryness, thinning and normal aging.

  • Many medical experts support safe intimate skin practices in the fields of obstetrics, dermatology and aesthetics, including our own experts. Like all new skin care practices, talk to your doctor or medical expert if you’re not sure if Lady Suite products are right for you.

  • pH stands for “potential of hydrogen” and the pH level is the measure of acidity or alkalinity of water-soluble products. A pH value is a number from 1 – 14, with 7 as the neutral point. Values below 7 are more acidic. The skin on our faces has an average pH of 5.5 while intimate skin (vulvovaginal) is below a 4.5. Using a cleanser down there with a higher pH can disturb the balance of good bacteria that protect our lady parts from irritation potential. Our Probiotic Refreshing Cleanser is at a pH level of 4.0 – 4.5 as pH can shift over time – this is ideal for intimate skin while supporting the entire lady landscape (vulvovaginal area).

  • We only choose to formulate with safe, plant-based ingredients for this delicate area of the body. Since every woman is different and pregnancy heightens sensitivities, always check with your health experts before using any topical product during pregnancy. Overall, we use very limited essential oils for specific purposes in very low concentrations balanced with skin beneficial carrier oils for gentle efficacy. We do not formulate with synthetic ingredients including retinol or hydroquinone, known endocrine disruptors, and we meet the safety standards of clean beauty innovators like Credo Beauty and The Detox Market. Our products are also gluten-free, vegan and cruelty-free. *Our Rejuvenating Botanical Oil has high concentrations of specific carrier oils for appropriate dilution, including Organic Jojoba, Sunflower and Meadowfoam Seed Oil - all rich in Omega Fatty Acids and antioxidants, and account for the majority of the formula. *Our Probiotic Refreshing Cleanser is a wash-off product that avoids the use of parabens, harsh synthetic surfactants/foaming agents, and supports vulva pH. We like this Well + Good article about the safe use of plant/essential oils during pregnancy as a starting point. It also lists additional resources to talk to your doctor about!

  • Yes, all of our products are Dermatologically Tested.

  • Never. We only test on ladies, not animals.

  • Not a problem! We understand that our product(s) is not for everyone. Please email us at hello@ladysuitebeauty.com and put RETURN in the subject. We'd love to hear the details in hopes of improving our product experience.

Vulva Products FAQs

  • Each application will help increase hydration and a rejuvenated appearance. Note, most products take up to 6 weeks for a noticeable and visible effect.

  • Just like your facial skin care routine, this product is meant to be used continuously as part of your daily wellness regime. With continued use, your lady parts will maintain an increased level of resilience - intimate skin that appears healthier, hydrated and more elastic.

  • Yes, Lady Suite Rejuvenating Botanical Oil is safe for morning and evening application.

  • Not necessary to over saturate for optimal results.

  • To be safe, it would be advised to apply one product at a time to avoid conflict in chemistry and irritation.

  • Yes! It creates a nice cooling effect.

  • During our testing phase, we never had any issues with staining. However, we recommend you apply as directed then wait until oils absorbs (up to 5 minutes) before putting on panties. Unfortunately, Lady Suite Beauty will not be held responsible for staining and associated costs.

  • Yes, Lady Suite Rejuvenating Botanical Oil has had no reported adversities being used during menopause and may add comfort during this temperamental time. Avoid using the oil as a vaginal lubricant.

  • Good question! No, our Botanical Oil is only meant for skin outside of the vagina, scientifically referred to as the vulva, as well as areas that you regularly shave or wax. While the oil was formulated to be safe for the entire intimate area, it was not meant to be a vaginal lubricant. Stop use immediately and contact your doctor if any irritation internally or externally occurs.

  • There are 3 essential oils used in the oil blend. Cedarwood and Orange Oils create a refreshing natural aroma and have soothing benefits and Carrot Seed Oil helps rejuvenate the skin. We are all unique in what our bodies may react to, if you feel any sensitivity during use, discontinue and consult a physician. Please note the formula itself passed a dermatology test.

  • We recommend avoiding use of topical skin care on open wounds. Allow epidermis (top layers of skin) to heal before further application.

  • Great question! While it can be tempting to use your face oil on intimate skin, it's not always ideal. Lady suite Rejuvenating Botanical Oil was a two year effort working with a top essential oil expert to create a formula safe and effective for intimate skin. Because intimate skin is more delicate, sensitive and close to a mucus membrane (the vagina), too many essential oils or specific types of essential oils can be sensitizing, doing more harm than good. We use a careful blend of essential fatty acids versus essential oils that gently yet effectively benefit intimate skin. The only essential oils are at very low levels.

  • With decades in the personal care industry, we work with top bio-scientists, medical and holistic experts along with FDA-approved manufacturers that adhere to the highest safety standards. Additionally, we are involved in the ingredients sourcing process to ensure that ingredient origins are safe and vetted. Our Botanical Oil is dermatologist-tested and approved, and has also been tested on ourselves, estheticians, and ladies across the country.

  • Lady Suite Probiotic Refreshing Cleanser is made for the vulva – intimate skin and outer lady parts surrounding the vagina and not meant to be used as a vaginal (internal) cleanser. The vagina is a self-cleaning organ that definitely does not need an external cleanser. The vulva however, is not self-cleaning and can benefit from a daily wash with a gentle cleanser designed for this delicate area.

  • Most body cleansers aren’t formulated for intimate skin, which that has a lower pH and is close to the vagina. This area can be thrown out of balance if the cleanser is too acidic or too alkaline. Many body cleansers also contain harsh surfactants or essential oils that may be too irritating to this area, and/or other ingredients (parabens, phthalates, water soluble glycerin, dyes, pegs, etc.) that may “disturb the peace” creating the imbalance of good vs. bad bacteria.

  • Absolutely, water is a perfectly fine solution but for those who want more, our Probiotic Refreshing Cleanser is made from water and a lady parts-friendly blend of Probiotic bioactives and natural + organic botanicals and fruit extracts that help effectively cleanse and refresh your lady parts without stripping the good bacteria that helps regulate intimate health.

  • Lady Suite chooses not to formulate with living good bacteria. Instead, our scientist isolates the beneficial components of the living bacteria so they can be stable in a formula and don’t have to be refrigerated. Some of these beneficial components are: Hyaluronic Acid – holds 1000 times its weight in water ideal for skin hydration and barrier function. Lactic Acid – acts as a natural moisturizing factor and is also antimicrobial against “bad” bacteria and has skin renewing benefits. Lipoteichoic Acid – increases the skin’s own antimicrobial peptides including beta defensins which also help protect intimate skin from “bad” bacteria.

  • Probiotic Bioactives are ideal for dry, sensitive intimate skin, and can help protect against ingrown hair infections while supporting intimate skin pH.

  • Glyceryl Caprylate, a vegetable based wetting agent with strong activity against bacteria and yeast. It’s an excellent booster for organic acids and different listed preservatives. Due to its amphiphilic structure, it lowers the surface tension. This can lead to smaller droplets and more stable emulsions.

  • Yes, technically our cleanser is free of Glycerin – which is a water loving molecule due to its structure. While used a lot in skin care, it’s not ideal for the vulvovaginal area as it can pull moisture from the skin. We use plant-based polyglyceryl esters, which occur when the glycerin molecule is modified with an oil-loving fatty acid, creating an emulsifier that is very moisturizing and mild to the skin. Overall, they are highly regarded due to their mildness, flexibility, moisture holding capacity and biodegradability.  They’re also produced sustainably from renewable resources.

  • Yes, our cleanser is synthetic fragrance-free. We use a blend of skin beneficial fruit and botanical extracts, including grapefruit, green tea and cucumber that also create a refreshing scent.

  • Yes, however we are not seeking a formal certification for Gluten-Free.

  • Yes, this cleanser does not include animal byproducts.

  • We like to use it in the shower, like you would normally cleanse your body, especially post- workout or sexual activities. However, there is no need to over-cleanse any body part! Once or twice a day is ideal.

  • Glow Refiner is more powerful treatment for chronic ingrown hairs, razor bumps, blemishes and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that accompanies ingrown hair bumps and blemishes. Like a clarifying and brightening toner, this alcohol-free solution has bacteria fighting and antiseptic properties to better prevent skin irritation more quickly.

  • Refining refers to evening, smoothing and improving skin texture.

  • Every time you shave, you take the hair and skin off, which can make the delicate epidermis (upper layer) of the skin more raw and sensitive. Adding water-based products immediately after shaving can create a stinging sensation. The feeling will go away in about a minute, but it’s best to wait 5-10 minutes (or longer for more sensitive skin) after shaving before applying Glow Refiner, or any other topical product. You can minimize that “stinging” feeling by applying Lady Suite’s Rejuvenating Botanical Oil after you apply Glow Refiner.

  • No. While the Oil fights ingrown hairs and bumps, it’s not a quick fix and works best with daily use. These two products truly complement each other, similar to a facial toner and facial oil/moisturizer duo. Also, using the oil after the Glow Refiner increases skin’s ability to receive even more hydration than applying the oil to dry skin

  • Yes, it’s safe to use on facial skin. Note, because of its ingredient profile and lower pH of 4, it’s recommended for oilier skin and skin prone to acne breakouts.

  • We don’t recommend it. It’s best to apply glow refiner to areas where hair meets skin and not areas like the labia minora or vaginal opening.

  • Glow Refiner has more exfoliating ingredients than our cleanser and oil, like Lactic Acid and Willow Bark. While these are more gentle than other acids like Glycolic Acid, we don’t believe in over-exfoliating this delicate area. It’s best to use this solution 2 to 3 x’s a week or every other day if your pubic region is more prone to ingrown hairs, razor bumps, and blemishes. You can also spot touch onto problem areas more often as needed.

  • Lady Suite never uses synthetic fragrance. We use specific botanical aromatics with skin soothing benefits. In Glow Refiner, the smell is from Vanilla Planifolia Extract and other fruit extracts with polyphenols that have antioxidant and calming properties.

  • This can happen due to the combination of niacinimide and lactic acid. Although this formula doesn't use high concentrations of either for use on vulva skin, it can cause a temporary flush or redness. It's best to follow application with Lady Suite's Rejuvenating Botanical Oil for it's soothing and hydrating benefits. If redness persists followed by itching or rash, you may be allergic to any one component of this formula. We recommend you stop use immediately or call your skin care expert or physician.
