A study in the UK found that only half of women aged 26-35 were able to label the vagina accurately on a diagram. What could be worse? The word “vagina” is usually misused. When referencing their lady parts – women often call the whole shebang “vagina” which is simply neglecting the rest of their parts. Why is this so COMMON?
Your VULVA deserves more credit! Your VULVA is a simple name for your outside genitals [mic drop].
The Vulva is the all-in-one-term for your external parts such as the clitoris, urethral opening (pee hole), inner and outer labia (lips). The Vagina is the internal passage between the uterus and external genitals leading up to the cervix. In other words:

The appearance of female genitalia has been a social taboo rooted in patriarchal western culture. Women’s bodies and sexuality have been indoctrinated in shame, cloaked with an unrealistic purity, wiped away and smoothed flat.
